ABOUT US. The North West Film Society Inc. (NWFS) has been showing quality films to its membership since 1992. From 2005, films are screened at CMAX Cinemas in Devonport under a partnership agreement with CMAX.

Screening times are between 6.45 and 7.30 pm on Wednesday evenings once per month. For full details, see the film calendar. To confirm the starting times of particular films, please check the  in the CMAX home page in the week leading up to the screening or subscribe to “What’s Hot @ CMAX” newsletter for regular updates on Film Society and main stream films. WHAT DOES IT COST? 

Membership in 2009 is $90 for the calendar year for 14 films. That's $6.43* a film!  Late start memberships are available as the year progresses. Ask us for details. 

Part year membership. Do your personal commitments prevent you from attending all the films? See any 6 films any time in the calendar year for $70 ($11.67/film). 

Early Bird Specials! Current members renewing in November and December get a $10 discount on the following years subscription - $80. ($5.71/film)*. New members joining in November and December can see the remaining films in 2008 and subscribe to the following year for $100!

 *Price per film is only to assist members choosing a subscription option. It assumes the member sees all the films in the program.

Memberships can be purchased over the Internet; by mail, with a cheque or money order, to our postal address; or 30 minutes prior to any screening from the NWFS table at CMAX. It is not possible to purchase your membership from the CMAX Candy Bar.

Alternatively you can download the Membership Flyer And Application Form, in PDF format, print it, fill it in, and post it to PO Box 553, Ulverstone 7315. Don't forget a cheque or money order.

GUESTS.   You are very welcome to attend films, as our guest, at a cost of $13. Members are encouraged to invite guests to any screening at the Guest rate. Guests are required to sign the Guest Register. We encourage guests to join our society as soon as possible as we can only exist if we have a viable number of full members.
